SCHOOL-PROVIDED STUDENT EMAIL
Currently all students at PHS and PCMS have school-provided Office 365 Accounts with Gaggle Filtering services - in simple terms, all PHS and PCMS students have individual email addresses.
Office 365 for Students includes:
- Calendar
- OneDrive for Business/Education (1 TB cloud storage)
- Microsoft Office Web Applications
- Microsoft Office Client Downloads on up to 5 computers, macs, or tablets
Overview of Gaggle Filtering services provided with Office 365 Accounts:
∞ Anti-Pornography Scanner
Real-time Image Analysis that detects and prevents pornographic images throughout the Gaggle platform, including email, blogs and Digital Lockers. It scans not only embedded and attached images, but also images in attachments like Word documents and PowerPoints, as well as the first page of any URL a student mentions or posts.
∞ Specialized Screening Processes
All incoming/outgoing emails, internal student activities and attachments are scanned for inappropriate text and images. All student communication, including the content of email attachments, is scanned by a Blocked Word List and the Anti-Pornography Scanner to ensure the content is appropriate and safe.
∞ Human Monitoring Service (HMS)
Gaggle employees monitor student accounts. Teachers do not need to check blocked messages and other notices. Gaggle HMS will review them and apply consistent, district-approved policies to any violations while also keeping the district informed. In cases of student safety concerns, like suicide threats or violence, Gaggle immediately contacts the designated school or district contact.

Insights for Parents
Bullying has been on the rise among youth for many years. It can be verbal, physical or social and affects a large number of students in school. Both genders can be bullies or bullied, but girl-on-girl social aggression is rising at a faster rate. Read some tips and know how to help students.
Collaborating In and Out of School
Teachers are eager to collaborate in and outside of school to best serve their students. In fact, in Scholastic’s 2014 Primary Sources report, nearly all of the 20,000 teachers surveyed said they were willing to reach out to students’ parents and families to build a strong network of support and help every child succeed.
