November 2022
Principal's Note
Happy November!
We are officially one quarter into the 2022-23 school year. At this point, school routines should be familiar, and students should have an increased comfort level in all of their courses and relationships with their teachers.
PROGRESS REPORTS: This week, students and their parents/guardians will receive a digital progress report. This report will look different from the weekly progress reports sent by individual teachers, as this document will show all classes in one snapshot.
Reflective Questions:
- Am I on pace to complete my work by the semester end date? (Any work not submitted by the end of the semester is factored into the student's grade as a zero, which will have a negative impact on the course grade.)
- Am I satisfied with my learning and my grade on submitted work? Have I asked to retry assignments that I need further learning on?
- Do I go through the course content carefully and take notes?
- Have I attended my teacher's office hours and asked questions?
- Do I check my school email daily?
- Do I read feedback left in my courses by my teachers and use that feedback to improve my understanding of course objectives?
What is a Progress Report?
A Progress Report is a snapshot of a student's activity at a particular time. This is a fluid document, as the student has until the close of the semester to complete learning and submit assignments for assessment. Parents/Guardians have 24/7 access to the student's course work, grades, and feedback from teachers using their parent/guardian login.

Attendance/Engagement Expectation
That flexibility requires a personal responsibility for time management. Students have the freedom to work with their families to create a daily school schedule, however, there should be an adherence to the pacing schedule within courses.
Any student who falls >10 assignments behind pace should expect a call from our office, as this would be considered "absent" from school. Continued unexcused absence and lack of engagement will result in a truancy intervention.
Parents/Guardians, remember to communicate with our office if your child will be offline for any extended amount of time. In that communication, please share the plan for your child to stay on pace with coursework.
