A Message from Your Principal

It's been another wonderful week here at Picotte. Students are getting the routines down for in-person and at-home learning. They are enjoying time with their friends and the staff. We've kicked off our PTA fundraiser. There's so many reasons to smile as a Pinto!

Parent-Teacher conferences are next week. COVID can't stop our tradition of having a book fair during conferences! The book fair will run from October 19-November 1. There is a link below for you to browse and shop our book fair. Thanks for supporting your child in reading and supporting Picotte at the same time. Our PTA will be raffling off one book per grade level. We'll let you know if your child is a winner. But we know they win every time they read a book!

Report cards will be sent home next Wednesday with our A-K students. They will be shared at Parent-Teacher conferences for our L-Z and all-remote students and families. All remote students and L-Z students' report cards will be available for pick up here at the school next Monday-Thursday during school hours. We will send the remaining report cards home with students or via US mail the week of October 26.

Every Wednesday we celebrate being a Pinto with Spirit Day. That's a day to wear your Pinto gear and/or Picotte colors. If you or your child would like to purchase a $10.00 Picotte Pinto shirt, contact the office for sizes that are still available.

Keep up the AWESOME support for the PTA fundraiser. Over 100 students have earned their Golden Ticket prizes. Congratulations to Gretchen in 1st grade for winning the iPad and to Elijah, also in 1st grade, for winning our first refrigerator and cash. We are excited to extend the opportunity to earn a Golden Ticket prize and be entered in future drawings until next Tuesday! The donation site link is below. Thank you for your continued support of the PTA, who in turn supports our students and teachers so well. We are grateful!

As of right now, the USDA supports free lunches for all students. If you have sent lunch money to school, we will be returning it to you. If your child brings cold lunch, the charge for milk is $0.35. You can set up an account or send change each day. However, if they chooses a fruit and vegetable, we are not required to charge for the milk. Additional information about lunches and Meals2Go is below.

You'll find information on upcoming Halloween celebrations, new staff members, and arrival and dismissal reminders below.

As always, please call or email if you have any questions. Enjoy the weekend!

Counselor's Corner

As we have transitioned to our 3/2 Family Model, we want to keep students engaged with their teachers, their education and their school community as much as possible. For those students at home studying virtually, or home due to the current school model, you will find a video or short lesson in your classroom under Mrs. Ferree's Counseling channel. If it any time you need to reach out, I am available to all Picotte student's whether they are in the building or not.

For updates on counseling information please see the Picotte webpage under the Counselor's Corner, and the section "Did You Know", which can be found on the main page. If there is specific information you are looking for, feel free to seek me out, and I will be happy to research information and/or resources.

As always, on my counseling page, there is a digital form that allows you to reach out to me directly on behalf of your child, for meetings. My goal is to see your children...our students, grow socially and academically by recognizing and building upon their strengths so that they may achieve the greatest success here at Picotte and beyond.
