Chapman Community Building
What a great week back to school! Students had extended Homeroom this week to do community building activities, tour the building, and learn about their schedule. We had successful lunches sitting by Homeroom and the Assistant Principals met with teams about reminders and setting positive goals for the school year! This year students will be using paper passes to leave class and go to the nurse, counseling, Main Office, etc. These passes are color coded for grade and hallway so staff can ensure students that are in the hallway are getting to their next location successfully. We had a fire drill yesterday where students exited the building quickly and orderly!
Coming up this week, we are looking forward to getting into our regular schedule routines. On Monday morning at drop off, students will practice bus evacuation, if they take a bus. This will occur at drop off and will only take a few minutes! We will not be starting advisory this month to ensure students jump right into their content. We are starting a new Chromebook loaner distribution this week for students that forget their device. Students will be able to borrow a Chromebook by team in grades 7&8 and grade 6 will still be able to get a loaner device in the Library.
We look forward to Open House on Wednesday! Stop by at 5:30 to meet the new Administration Team in the Auditorium. Please ask your student(s) about their Day 1 schedule to follow. Please note that grade 7 students are double-booked C1 for elective AND Academic Resource Block. Families in grade 7 should attend the elective block.
Open House Night!
We can't wait to welcome parents and guardians to our Open House Night this Wednesday, September 13th from 6-8pm. We will do an optional "Meet and Greet" for the Administration Team from 5:30-6:00 in the Auditorium. We ask that you please leave your students at home for this event.

General Reminders
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Please use the map below when planning drop off and pick up for your Chapman student.
Thank you for a smooth start to the year! Please remember to only drop off/pick up students in the right lane, no dropping off in the loop, it is very dangerous. Also, please remember you must stay in your car if you are using the drop off/pick up line, otherwise it causes a delay and back ups. Thanks for your cooperation.

Chromebook Policy
All students were issued their own Chromebook for use at home and in school. Access to these devices facilitates collaboration, supports diverse learners, and allows students to easily access online curriculum resources and learning platforms. Proper care and handling of the Chromebook is the responsibility of the student. Users must take reasonable measures to prevent their device from being lost or stolen. In the event an electronic device is lost or stolen, the user is required to immediately notify school administration. Parents and Guardians will be invoiced for lost or intentionally damaged devices. If payment is not received an obligation will be placed on the student account. Obligations prevent students from participating in extracurricular activities, including socials, dances, clubs, field trips, and athletics.
