Do You Know Where India Hook's Land Came From?
Mrs. Selle had a parent share an article with her that ran in the Herald last Tuesday about the land that IHES is built on and the land surrounding us. It is a very interesting read if you have a moment. It turns out our very own beloved school is built on land purchased by an emancipated slave!
Wanted: Tissues
With this wintry weather upon us we are beginning to run low on tissues. If you be willing to send in a box or two that would be wonderful!
Winter Weather Make-Up Day
The make-up day for our recent snow day will be February 12th.

Mystery Readers
Kids LOVE being read to! Every other Friday we will host a Mystery Reader. Mystery Readers can be parents, grandparents, siblings, or other family members. This will be a 10-15 minute time block. You can bring in your favorite children's book….fiction, non-fiction, poetry, etc. If you're not sure what to bring, I can find a book for you, or you can read a chapter from our read aloud book. If you are interested in signing up for a Mystery Reader date, just send me a quick message.
Lost and Found
With the cooler temperatures setting in more students are coming to school with sweatshirts and jackets. You would be AMAZED how many end up in the school's lost and found. The best thing to do is put your child name on the tag so the item has a better chance of making it back to our class. If you know your child is missing something have them check the lost and found.
Volunteering at the School
If you would like to be a volunteer for the upcoming year please fill out the form found in this link. If you have filled this out in the past and your volunteer card has not expired, you do not need to fill another one out.
Constant Contact
To keep in constant contact with all things "Pirates" please subscribe to the IHES News.
I know this is gross, however....
In order to keep our building as germ free as possible it is important that you understand that children must be diarrhea free, vomit free, and fever free (without fever reducing medication) for 24 hours before they can return to school.
