Student Comments for Teacher of the Year Finalists

Students, there are three finalists for Teacher of the Year at Flower Mound 9th Grade Campus: Mrs. Killough, Mrs. Krueger, and Mrs. Romero. From now until November 30 when we return from Thanksgiving, you will have a chance to go online and positively comment on the teachers who have helped make an impact this year at FM9. Please go to this link to let your teachers know how amazing that they are.

Helping Others

Thanksgiving should be a time for us to give back and be grateful. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and what better way to show thanks than to help others. Helping others makes us feel better about ourselves and you don't always have to go out of your way. The smallest things could make someone's day.

One way you could have fed families in Lewisville, was the Stuff the Pantry. While this may have ended a few weeks ago, it's not too late to help out and give back.

A few more ideas to get you started include ...

  • Make food and bring it to a food kitchen or homeless shelter. This would give you bonding time with the people you love and care about while also helping out those in need.
  • Help out someone you know that is struggling at the moment, they'll really appreciate it and you never know when you'll be in a situation and need help. Even if you see someone that needs help crossing the street or carrying groceries, help them out.

It doesn't matter how you help out, just as long as you do.

“Be thankful for what you have. Your life, no matter how bad you think it is, is someone else's fairytale.” - Wale Ayeni

The "City of Lights" is dark, but the world lights up in support

The Eiffel Tower in Paris has gone dark following the tragic events in the city. However, dozens of buildings across the globe have been washed in blue, white, and red lights, the colors of the French flag, in solidarity with the people of France. In addition to the landmarks of the world, social media has also been flooded with support - just look at all the Facebook profile pictures now draped in blue, white, and red.
