What is Mitosis?
- A cell that splits apart into two daughter cells each having the same number of chromosomes as the parent.
- The splitting of one cell into two.
Why is Mitosis important?
It helps in the growth and development of the human body. Also it produces new cells, and replaces old ones.
Chromosomes become visible, and the nuclear envelope disappears.
The chromosomes become arranged on the plate and are attached to the fully formed spindle.
Sister chromatids separate.
