No School for Students – Nov. 25 - 29, 2019

Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 25 & 26 – Parent/Teacher Conferences

Wednesday - Friday, Nov. 27 & 29 – Thanksgiving Break

FALL BREAK

Students will not be in attendance Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29. We hope to see all of our families at parent/teacher conferences on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. We wish all of our families a restful and rejuvenating Thanksgiving break with friends and family.

PARENT SURVEY - WE VALUE YOUR FEEDBACK

Every year, District 303 conducts a satisfaction survey eliciting feedback from our students, teachers, and parents. This year, as part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), we will now be participating in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. As a parent or guardian, this survey will provide you with the opportunity to share your thoughts on important elements of school effectiveness about your child’s school.

We value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your suggestions for improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. To take the parent survey please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey.

LOST AND FOUND

Parents, please look through the Lost and Found while you are at the school for conferences. Davis items will be in the front hallway and Richmond items will be in the main foyer. Please be sure to label your child’s items with their name so we can easily get lost items back to their owner. Any items left on Wednesday will be donated to a local charity.

HOLIDAY CARDS FOR OUR MILITARY

Many Davis-Richmond students wrote holiday messages to be sent to our active military. We hope our cards and messages will help brighten the holidays for our soldiers who are not able to be home with their families this year.

DISTRICT 303 PARENT UNIVERSITY

District 303 Parent University presents our second annual book study when we read "The Whole Brain Child" by Dr. Dan Siegel.

In this pioneering, practical book, Daniel J. Siegel, neuropsychiatrist and author of the bestselling book Mindsight, and parenting expert Tina Payne Bryson demystify the meltdowns and aggravation, explaining the new science of how a child’s brain is wired and how it matures. The “upstairs brain,” which makes decisions and balances emotions, is under construction until the mid-twenties. Conversations will be based upon the book as well as supplemental workbook activities. Study sessions will be offered during both morning and evening times at the following locations:

● Baker Community Center (101 S. 2nd Street, St. Charles)

● Fox Ridge in the LRC (1905 Tyler Road, St. Charles)

Please register here by November 30 so we can order a book for you! Then let us know when you will pick up your book.
