Tim Berners-Lee was born on 8 june 1955 (8-6-1955). He is an English computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web (WWW). In 2004, Berners-Lee was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his pioneering work and he was elected the foreign associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences. He made the first web browser and editor. The worlds first website was posted on 6 August 1991. Its is http://info.cern.ch
Early Life
School and College
Tim Berners-Lee is the son of Conway Berners-Lee and Mary Berners-Lee. He firstly went to Sheen Mount primary school and then later on he went to Emanuel School from 1969-1973. After that he went on to The Queen's College, Oxford and there he received his first class physics degree.
World Wide Web
The World Wide Web is the part of the internet which contains websites and webpages. It was invented in 1989 at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. Tim Berners-Lee created a new language called HTML. Websites are made of pages linked by hypertext links. They are all written in HTML.
Most websites that start with WWW normally make money from advertisement not fee.
