Weekly Update from Mrs. Hibler
Dear Parents:
As we head into our Christmas break, I wanted to personally thank all the parents for all your patience in the last few weeks. Homework, holiday celebrations, concerts, chauffeuring to and from practice, not to mention the daily routine of work and school. Well, you made it! I wish you and your family a peaceful break. May the joy of Christmas carry you through as you usher in Happy, Healthy New Year. I look forward to 2020 and all the excitement of a new decade.
Godspeed,
Mrs. Molly Hibler
Westlake, Ohio Connecting for Kids has recognized the following individuals with its 2020 Board Awards.
Kind Kid Award
Each year, Connecting for Kids gathers nominations from all across Northeast Ohio, seeking out children who are kind and compassionate. The Kind Kid award is given to a child 12 years of age or under who demonstrates kindness and compassion to peers. Today, at Mass, Connecting for Kids, announced that Noah Willett, a resident of North Ridgeville, and a student at St. Jude School in Elyria is one of their winners this year! Noah Willett is a fifth-grade student at St. Jude School in Elyria. He was nominated by staff members at the school for the kindness, compassion, and true friendship he has shown to a fellow classmate, Johnny, who has Down Syndrome. Noah has been Johnny’s best buddy and advocate since Johnny arrived at St. Jude. According to the nomination, Noah is a wonderful role model for his peers and makes sure that they treat Johnny with respect and include him just like everyone else. He is kind and patient with Johnny and always tries to help and encourage him when he is not listening or is having a rough day. For the past two years, Noah has requested to be in the same class as Johnny.
We at St. Jude School are very proud to be part of the Better Together Initiative in partnership with the Cleveland Diocese. This award is an example of what happens when we work together. Congratulations, Noah, and the entire Willett family.

Inclusive Education Week
During the week of December 16th, St. Jude School celebrated Inclusive Education Week, an annual event that celebrates the progress that schools have made in providing quality education to a diverse student population. At St. Jude School, we focused on our strengths rather than our differences and concentrated on how to include others, no matter their limitations. Planned activities throughout the week, helped our students understand their gifts and talents, and to celebrate how to use those gifts to understand and include others.
Thank you, Sarah Durham, Jessica Pardee, and Jessica Kundrick for your many hours of planning to bring Inclusive Education Week to our school. As a result of all your gifts and talents, you ladies help to make St. Jude School, an exceptional school!

The Friday Night Ski Club is scheduled to start in just three short weeks
Our first date will be Friday, January 10, 2020. Boston Mills has issued lift tickets for everyone who has registered with them online. They are being shipped to me and I should receive them soon. I received word from Boston Mills today that the ski resort will open starting this weekend. It’s been cold enough that they’ve been able to make snow. At the end of this E-mail, I have enclosed the announcement that I received from Boston Mills.
Even though you will not receive your lift tickets until the first night we go as a club, you are able to use the value passes attached to your lift ticket. Everyone receives for value passes that can be used for an all-day lift ticket and equipment rentals for the low-cost of just $10 for each use. Each value pass can be used by the club member or by a relative or friend. More than one Value Pass can be used at the same time. If you want to use one or more of your value passes during the Christmas holidays all you have to do is go to the ticket window and tell the person there that you are a member of the Friday Night Ski Club and that you want to use one of your Value Passes. They may ask you for some form of identification and/or ask you a security question. They will access your value pass for you on the computer and then when you pay them the $10, you will be issued a lift ticket and rental pass. Shortly after the first of the year, I will send out a series of daily emails giving you all the relevant start-up information that you will need for this year‘s ski season. If you have any questions about how to use a value pass or about anything else, feel free to call me at 440-452–2068.
I hope you all have a great Christmas.
