Detailed Instructions
Concert Dress is black dress shoes, black dress pants (or long black skirt), white button up shirt for men, white blouse for ladies. Please let Mrs. Crutchlow know if you foresee any problems acquiring the correct concert attire.
The audience will be allowed in the lobby at 5:00 p.m. At 5:30, the doors will open and the audience may find seats.
Students performing should NOT enter through the front doors.
Students performing in the concert should enter through the PERFORMER’S ENTRANCE, which is located beside the loading dock at the back of the Fine Arts Center. This leads the performer backstage, where everyone unpacks their instrument.
People not performing in the concert should NOT enter through the Performer’s Entrance. Mommas and daddies and babies (etc….) go in the front doors.
Seventh graders will unpack backstage. There will be signs posted to show you where to unpack your instrument. Eighth graders will unpack in the band room. There will be someone at the Performer’s Entrance to lead you in the correct direction.
If Mrs. Crutchlow has your instrument delivered to the D5FAC, it will be backstage under the sign for your instrument. Both grades will find their instruments here. Remember, this delivery service is only available to tuba players and students with large instruments who ride the bus in the afternoon.
Call Time is 5:30 p.m. This means that you should be backstage in the Fine Arts Center by 5:30. If you wait until later, you may not get a parking space, and you may not get to your place on time, and you may not get warmed up.
The curtains will be closed on the stage until 6:00 p.m. At that time, the curtains will open, and the bright lights will shine on the band.
After each group plays, the curtains will close and the groups will change. Your grade will be seated in the reserved section of the auditorium when not performing. I am expecting EACH of you to be on your best behavior and show proper concert etiquette. You are to set the example for the rest of the audience.
After the concert, PACK UP. All students (except TUBA players) who ride to school by car or who can take their instrument on the bus should take their instruments and music home.
Tuba players and students with large instruments that ride to school by bus should leave their instruments in the assigned location. They will be delivered to school the next day.
The concert should conclude by 7:00 p.m.
