Montgomery Bus Boycott

The five W's

Who: Rosa parks, White man, and Jo Ann Robinson.

What: Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat toa white man.

When: December 5th 1955 to December 20th 1956.

Where: Montgomery Alabama


Black people were not allowed to sit where they wanted on the buses, and had to give up their seat for any white person who wanted it.


Finally on December 20th 1956 a supreme court decision integrates the buses, and now every body is allowed to sit where they please.


This event contributed to the civil rights movement by giving a win to African Americans, and it gave them the encouragement to keep going.
