YCC Student Spotlight
Senior Abby Bowling is the SWHS representative for YCC August Student Spotlight. Abby has taken biomedical classes all fours year of high school, and she is enrolled in Biomedical Innovations this year. Furthermore, she has taken several AP courses and is pursuing dual-credit classes in English, College Algebra, and Veterinary Science.
Abby has completed an internship for YCC by serving as a Health Career Explorer at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She has learned valuable soft skills to help her become more employable and to expose her to possible career opportunities. Abby describes YCC as a program that has improved her skills and helped to meet academic needs.
In addition, Abby has been involved in the SWHS FFA program throughout high school and is currently serving as an officer for that organization. She is also active in HOSA, Unite, and NHS.
Abby's extracurricular activities have led her to pursue a career pathway in agriculture. She hopes to become a veterinarian or obtain a degree in agriculture education. She is certainly heading in the right direction by engaging in high school activities that are related to her long-term goals.
