Self-Care for Parents During the Pandemic
- Take a walk: Take turns with your spouse or co-parent and go for a stroll or a jog.
- Make and keep necessary medical appointments: Don't put off important doctor visits because of the pandemic.
- Take a break from social media: While we can find a lot of good things on social media, there are days when everything in your news feed is negative and controversial.
- Make a routine: Set and maintain a routine so that everyone in the household knows the schedule.

- Create a visual calendar to show your child exactly when he will be returning to his program to make it concrete.
- Create a back-to-school plan with your child.

AB Patterns
Interactive activity
In this activity, the child will first watch a video about some different ways to create AB patterns. Then they will fill in the missing part of the pattern unit (AB).
Video made possible by Kentucky Educational Television (KET).
After logging into your CLIEngage account, launch the activity by clicking this button. Type the child’s first name and last initial to begin!
Pattern Play
- Your child will learn about patterns by following and creating simple patterns with toys and other objects.
- After completing the CIRCLE STEM Lab: AB Pattern, I had my son complete his own pattern.
- You can see that there is some wait time, as he thinks about what pattern he will create on his own.
- If you notice your child struggling to come up with a pattern, start a pattern for your child and assist them along the way if needed.
