Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

Town Hall has reopened to the public, without the need for an appointment, as of Tuesday, June 1, 2021. As of June 16, 2021, we do not require masks in the public buildings for those who have been vaccinated. This applies to all visitors and staff. Exemptions from this rule include: those with a certain medical or disabling condition, or those communicating with a person who has a hearing impairment or other disability.


At this time, the Town of Shrewsbury is not requiring proof of vaccination from employees or visitors to Town Buildings.


The Town of Shrewsbury urges residents, taxpayers and others to continue utilizing our online services including paying bills, applying for permits and licenses.

About Us

The Board of Selectmen acts as the Town's Chief Executive Body responsible for the community's general welfare following guidelines set forth in Operational Policies for the Board of Selectmen. Specific powers and responsibilities of the Board of Selectmen are set forth in Chapter 559 of the Acts of 1953 which is better known as the Town Manager Act and the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
