Our Mission:

The Oak Ridge community commits to every student's academic achievement, personal development, and social responsibility.

Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Thank you for a great week. The week leading up to the All School Picnic is always exciting. The baskets were amazing. We appreciate the effort our PTA parents put into the event. I also had the pleasure of running in the Oak Apple Run. The Oak Ridge turnout was impressive. It was a great experience and many of our runners came home with awards! Thank you to Mr. Stafford for organizing Oak Ridge Runners. One week left, make it your best. Have a great weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jason Parrott

From the desk of the Student Senate

Oak Ridge's Student Senate is a highly active organization within our school. They are fourth and fifth graders elected by their peers to help represent Oak Ridge's students. They are responsible for many activities throughout the year. Here is a look at what they accomplished this year at Oak Ridge and in the community:

In our school...

  • Tutoring students on their math facts and spear heading a Kindness Week,
  • Spearheading Kindness Week
  • Promoting a healthy lifestyle by having a sports week for our students in conjunction with Fuel Up for 60,
  • Having a student driven talent show to showcase the diverse gifts and talents in our school...Oak Ridge Has Talent!

In our community ...

  • Donating to Relay for Life
  • Donating Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
  • Donating to the Boys and Girls Club of Royal Oak.

Also, with the funds raised through working the Holiday Shop, Talent Show, Tiger fundraiser, and working the dunk tank at the all school picnic they will purchase a buddy bench for our lower elementary playground and a garden peace pole for the Oak Ridge Garden.

These are all student led initiatives with teacher rep support. These are also all things that would not have happened this year without our Student Senators. Great job this year!

From the Curriculum Department

The curriculum and instruction department would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the parents that took the time to provide us with feedback on our new standards-based report card. We look forward to bringing you the changes you have suggested in the 2015-2016 school year. The results to the survey can be viewed by clicking here: http://bit.ly/1HLywmX.
