Welcome Back JJH!
What I did on my summer vacation!
Curriculum Work Days
Improving my Coaching Practice
So, to start the year off, I developed a presentation (VERY SHORT) to help you better understand how we might move to the next level when we work together. The video is called Coaching Cycles and the link can be found below! I made it with PowToon. Pretty fun website that is free and makes videos like this! Please check it out!
Dates for coaching cycles will be determined once we get the new Teaching & Learning Calendar. We talk at data teams about the possibility of scheduling a coaching cycle with the team or with individuals!
What I read!
Little Bee by Chris Cleave
OMG! You have to read this awesome book! It will blow you away! I can't tell you everything about it, that would spoil the surprise. It takes place in England and Nigeria and will keep you thinking long after you finish it!
Secret by Lindsay Smith
This takes place during the cold war during the space race in the Soviet Union. Yulia has a special gift and she is forced to spy on the Americans. This book keeps me thinking what will happen next. I am also thinking how much is true and how much is made up! It seems so very real! A recommendation from Leslie Loboda!
The Crossover by Kwame Alexander
This book won the Newbery Medal in January (and was another recommendation from Leslie). It is written in verse by an African American boy as he and his twin brother deal with the life of an adolescent. An easy read for an adult, and I believe that boys will love this book. Especially those who like basketball!
Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff
Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern
Tangerine by Edward Bloor
Secret Hum of a Daisy by Tracy Holczer
