Week 17 Christmas Term 12th December 2014
OUR LEARNING JOURNEY THIS TERM
Over a 6 week period we learned all about the human body and how it works. Highlights were the trip to the Science Centre, Celebration of Learning, cleaning our teeth at school and making skeletons.
At the beginning of the year many children thought Grade 2 Maths was going to be hard and scary. They have realised Maths is quite fun and they get to play lots of games and quizzes. They look forward to Fridays when they can show their skills at 'mental maths'. This week the children got to make their own Maths board games.
Our second IPC unit was Explorers and Adventurers. The children learnt researching and mapping skills. They chose an explorer and made a poster about them. They visited the Polo Club to make a map of the area. They showed their public speaking skills by producing an oral presentation and enjoyed a visit from a real life adventurer who had climbed the seven summits.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Have a safe holiday! A gentle reminder that school begins for children from Grades 1 to 6 on Tuesday January 6, 2015.
