Bargerton Covid 19 Weekly Update
October 15, 2021
Current Cases
Bargerton School currently has ZERO positive cases. We are continuing with our efforts to sanitize daily with student health and safety as our top priority!
8th Grade Drape and Tux Pictures
We will have 8th grade pictures made on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021. Boys need to wear a light colored or white non collared shirt. Girls need to bring or wear a tank top.
** You may want to consider having the girls wear a button up shirt to keep from messing up their hair when they change for the drape picture. Any questions please call 9731)968-7484 or email hardin.angie@hcschoolstn.org.
THANKSGIVING MEAL
We will have our annual Thanksgiving Meal on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Lunch times for each class will be communicated soon, and we are excited to have parents and families in our building that day! We have planned a Veteran's Day program as well as our Book Fair for the same day, and everyone is invited to enjoy each of these events at Bargerton! Please look for more information for Thursday, November 11th to be communicated soon.
FALL FESTIVAL
Our annual Fall Festival will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 5-7pm. We will be asking parents and grandparents to provide goodies for our cake walk, items for our basket auction, and bingo prizes! Please help us make this the best fall festival Bargerton School has ever had!
Decorated Pumpkin Contest
Once again, BGS will have a Decorated Pumpkin Contest that will begin October 25th! Students my bring their decorated pumpkin along with their $1 entry fee any day the week of October 25th. Students may vote for their favorite pumpkin by brining in $1, and the pumpkin that has the most votes wins! The winner will be announced on Friday, October 29, 2021. This is a school fundraiser and all monies raised goes to our student rewards!
Attendance
Our Henderson County Attendance Policy states a phonecall will be made to parents of students who reach 3 unexcused absences. Parents will come to the school for a meeting upon 5 unexcused absences and further unexcused absences will be referred to the Truancy Board. It is extremely important for doctor's statements to be turned in to the office within 3 days of the student absence.
The state also looks at excused absences because when a student is not in the classroom, the student can not achieve to his or her highest potential. Students should always be at school unless they are exhibiting symptoms of sickness, quarantined due to contact tracing, or possibly a death in the family. It is our goal to have open and positive communication with families, and we ask that you always let us know when and why your student may be absent from school.
