St. Luke Weekly SMORE
January 13, 2023
Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
This week we celebrated the Baptism of Jesus which ends our Christmas season. It is through our baptism that our journey of faith begins.
We are off to a great start this January. This week we implemented our intervention program for students. Our intervention program allows teachers to work with students in smaller group settings to provide more targeted support for literacy and basic skills in math. We began this programming at the beginning of the school year and now through support from the Government we are able to provide students more targeted intervention. Please read the letter below for more specific information.
We have two important events coming up this week. On Monday night our Parent Council meeting will begin at 6:30 at the school. All are welcome if you have a child in the school. You can also join virtually (link below) if you can not attend in person. You are also welcome to attend our Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten Open House on Thursday night at 6:00pm. This would be a great opportunity to see the classrooms and the school, meet the teacher as well as myself and ask questions. Our programs will offer children excellent early learning opportunities to help prepare them for success in school.
We look forward to another fantastic week remembering that we are 'Better Together'
Cathy Hinger
Principal
SCHOOL COUNCIL AND PARENT ASSOCIATION MEETING
Our next School Council and Parent Association meeting is being held Monday, January 16th at 6:30pm at the school. We encourage you to join us in-person or on the google meet.
Babysitting is provided in the gym by our junior high students should you require those services. Please email Paula Rumley at paula.rumley@eics.ab.ca by 4:00pm on Monday to advise if you will be attending with a child.
Male Volunteers Needed
They run February 8th to March 22nd. There are two different sessions 9am and 10 am for one hr.
If you can help with any of these it would be greatly appreciated.
