PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I am pleased to share the following with our families:
LINCOLN CONFERENCES: A BRIEF OVERVIEW:
Zooming and In-Person Conferences
Next week, Lincoln parents and guardians will be sent notification of conferences in one of the following ways:
· Personal contact to arrange a conference
· Email sent home suggesting a conference
· Email sent home explaining a conference is not considered necessary at this time due to our satisfaction with the child's progress or recent communications with parents
On Saturday, October 23, at 8:00am, the conference sign-up link will appear on the front page of the Lincoln website.
After a team is chosen on the screen, the next screen will display options for available appointments on the conference days. Conferences start at 3:30pm and end at 7:30pm. Once you click on a time, you will fill out a form, and then be sent an email confirmation.
During the time you select, you will have the opportunity to meet with your child’s core teachers (Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math). Parents can also sign up for World Languages conferences separately. The other teachers your child sees (music program, broad experience, physical education) will all be present on conference days as well and are available on a drop-in basis.
Thank you for keeping yourself and your family in the loop of Lincoln's busy schedules.
Please join me in wishing our Cross Country team the best of luck at State as they compete this weekend!

Amazing Amigos/Peer Partners Club
. . . is a club for any students interested in making new friends while creating fun activities. It was created to provide students in the SOAR classroom a natural opportunity to get to know their peers. Students will meet twice per month. The Peer Partner activity dates will have students preparing fun activities for the monthly Amazing Amigos Club. Permission slips can be found in the commons. See Ms. Hirsch in room 306 or Ms. Luce in room 103 if you have any questions! SIGN UP FOR AMAZING AMIGOS/PEER PARTNERS HERE!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM MR. STEEN!
Students have the option to “dress up” for Halloween on Friday, October 29. Here are a few guidelines:
- No masks or inappropriate props. (Inappropriate props would include weapons and look-alike weapons.)
- No blood or violent themes.
- The regular Lincoln dress code applies. (no exposed undergarments, no inappropriate images or words etc.)
- “Dressing up” for Halloween doesn’t have to mean a traditional costume. You may choose to wear orange and/or black or simply choose to wear a favorite sports team’s jersey.
- Any costume deemed by a teacher to be inappropriate or interferes with the lesson will not be allowed and the student will be sent to the office.
If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, please feel free to contact me. (rsteen@d57.org)

PROSPECT HIGH SCHOOL REMINDER
Prospect Football Game Admissions for Middle School Students
Prospect High School is excited to see so many future Knights at football games on Friday nights. Non-high school age students will only be admitted with their parent/guardian(s) at the gate. Students are expected to sit with their parent/guardian(s) during the game. We are no longer allowing groups to be admitted with only one paid adult due to the increased number of disciplinary issues with middle school age students in and out of the stands.

THE HEALTH OFFICE . . . . VISION AND HEARING NOVEMBER 4, 2021
Lincoln’s annual Vision and Hearing Screening will take place on Thursday, November 4. Please remind your child to bring their glasses to school on that day. Please note that not all students are screened, this is determined by state mandates. Also, vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye exam by an eye doctor.
Attention 8th Grade Parents of students who wear glasses or contacts: Please email Mrs. Smith, RN, (ssmith@d57.org) with the date of your child’s last eye examination.
Please call the health office with any questions or concerns.
ASK THE OFFICE STAFF!
Where is my child’s lunch bag, it never makes it home? If your child is missing his or her lunch bag, be sure to remind him or her to check the cafeteria or the Lincoln Lost and Found. Lunch bags, unfortunately, can not remain in the Lost and Found cubbies for too long. Water bottles will also be disposed of on a routine basis. Because of food debris left in lunch bags, we have to dispose of unclaimed lunch bags in about a week’s time. Look for your lunch bag right away. Parents are welcome to check the Lost and Found as well. PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR LUNCH BAG and it stands a much better chance of being returned to you.
