Mustard Gas
By: Kylie Mellman, pd. 5
Mustard Gas was used to...
* Blind, injure,or even kill entrenched defenders
* The high concentration of acidity (sulfur in mustard gas) in the gasses vary in how badly it will effect the person inhaling or getting the gas or chemical on them
How does it work?
* Often times grenades were filled with the gas or chemical, and thrown on the defending side.
* Other times, the gas could be filled into canisters or bombs for planes or zeppelin to drop.
* Since mustard gas is heavier than air, it was easily poured into canisters through pipes
The affects of Mustard Gas
Distorts
If the gas gets on your skin, the skin on your face or limbs could either rip of, or be scorched.
Burns
When the gas is inhaled, it burns the inner walls or your throat and lungs
Experiments
While the gas was being tested, they put its chemical form on volunteers arms, to see the damage it could do
