Sixer's Sunday School
Weekly Update for Parents
We are excited to be teaching your child in Sunday School this year. Each week, we will try to share a little of what is going on in our class. Hopefully you will enjoy the brief update and maybe it will be helpful as you and Sixer talk faith at home!
-Lucas and Mindy
This week's lesson was from I Kings 17--the story of Elijah and the Widow.
Ask your student to tell you about the two BIG miracles that God performed through Elijah for the widow.
We talked about things in our lives that we think seemed a little "miraculous." Maybe your family could tell any miracle stories you know around the dinner table tonight.
We also challenged each other to look for ways that God might be inviting us to partner with God in being a miracle in the life of others...just like God partnered with Elijah to bring miracles to the life of the widow.
This week's Big Idea was "God's Word is true and it can be trusted."
Ask your student how the widow was able to trust that Elijah spoke for God and that God's word could be trusted.
Next Sunday is 2nd Sunday Pancakes! Pancakes will be served until 9am in the activities room! You don't want to be late next Sunday!
Next Week's lesson is from I Kings 18-19, Elijah at Mount Caramel.
