A characteristic substance that can be observed without changing the substance into something else.

Chemical property
A characteristic that is observed when a substance interacts with another substance.
EXAMPLES...
1. Flammablity
2. Taste
3. Odor
Flammability
This paper was flammable because the paper was burnt.

Vinegar changes the odor of a lot of things.
Chemical change
A change in matter that produces new substances.
Examples
1. Vinegar and baking soda
2. Fire to ash

This is a chemical change because when you mix the two together it creates bubbles.

Fire to ash is a chemical change because you can't change ash back into fire. Ash is not he same thing as fire.
Physical change
A change that alters the form or appearance of a substance but does not make the material into another substance.

This is a physical change because when chocolate is melted it is still chocolate just doesn't look the same.

This is a physical change because when a nice cube melts it is still water/ice just doesn't look the same as when it was frozen.

This is a physical change because after you chop the wood it is still wood it just isn't one whole piece of wood anymore.
