Fashion From The 50's
By: Mary Lehnardt
I hope you read and enjoy my Smore on Fashion From The 50's...
Shoes
In the 50's shoes were usually flat heeled and had lots of straps. Men and Women also had shoes that looked like the picture in the box. There were also skinny heels that looked like they were going to crack and fall apart. Well, the shoes now are a LOT different from the 50's so we'll see out that plays out.
Inspiring Fashion Icons
There are a lot of different people in the 50's that made a difference, and some of those people are...
1. Coco Chanel was one of them. One of her quotes was, "In order to be irrreplaceable you must always be different."
2. Jacqueline Kennedy was another fashion icon from the 50's. She was also President Kennedy's wife and first lady. A quote from her was, "One must not let oneself be overwhelmed by sadness."
3. Audrey Hepburn was another fashion icon and also personally one of my favorites. A quote by her is, "Nothing is impossible, The word itself says, I'm Possible."
Dress From The 50's
This is a dress worn by Audrey Hepburn with embroidered roses and tulle.
Skirt From The 50's
This is a skirt worn by Audrey Hepburn in her first movie, Roman Holiday.
Shirt From The 50's
This is a shirt worn by Audrey Hepburn. It is a very dramatic shirt that was worn in the 50's.
The Now Compared To The 50's
Now in America and back in the 50's, fashion is defenitely NOT the same. In the past the fashion was a little more layed back and conservative, but now it is just getting trashy. Now it is also becoming more showy and Un-conservative. I think that fashion wise, the 50's was better, and 2015 could and should do better.
