PBIS AT SHIRLEY HILLS
Shirley Hills Elementary PBIS Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a positive and fair environment where teachers can teach, and students can learn by encouraging behaviors that are responsible, respectful, and safe by all students.
Shirley Hills School-Wide Expectations for students are:
The 3 B'S
BE SAFE
BE RESPONSIBLE
BE RESPECTFUL
These expectations, along with the appropriate positive behaviors, are displayed in different areas of the school as reminders for students. Students will receive on-going instruction from staff on our school-wide expectations in all areas of our school. The classroom, restroom, cafeteria, hallways, bus, computer lab, media center, playground and assemblies are all settings where students will be expected to act in a respectful, responsible and safe manner.
Below is our SHES Behavior Matrix Chart, Office Referrals by Grade Level for the months of September-November, and information concerning our upcoming Winter Party for good behavior.

Grocery Store Math
We challenged families to complete a math activity at the Grocery Store. Families solved various math problems using items found throughout the store.
We hope next November school staff and families can meet in person and have fun together.
If your family completed the following items you will be entered into a drawing for a Kroger Gift Card. The winner will be announced next week on Class Dojo.
- Completed the Math Activity
- Emailed Pictures to Mrs. Bowen of your family completing the activity
- Completed an Online Survey
Below are some pictures of students and their families completing the Grocery Store Math Activity.

We are excited to partner with the Downtown Perry Merchants and Shop Downtown Perry to present the second book in our StoryWalk® series. Join us on Carroll Street December 10-12 to read .
StoryWalk® is a fun way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors simultaneously by taking pages from children’s books and placing them along paths for participants. Select stores in downtown Perry will post pages from a storybook in their windows. Activities for the whole family will be available along with a special prize for the first 100 children to complete a short survey.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
