Goodbye

Good luck to Mike Ferrari!

Mike was one of the main forces in creating and growing the library’s textbook collection which were checked out almost 7,000 times last year.

As well as managing our group study rooms, Mike also built and designed the library website, and provided direction and support for the library’s iPad collection.

Mike has accepted a teaching position at a high school in Southern California, where he will be enlightening minds and looking for good coffee. We will miss him greatly, but are excited about this new and bright chapter in his life.

Congratulations Heather Ott!

Longtime adjunct, Heather Ott, accepted a full-time faculty librarian position at Evergreen College this summer.

Heather taught online and hybrid versions of LIBR 100 and has been instrumental in developing our online resources. We will miss her wonderful displays and innovative instruction.

If you are in San Jose, be sure to stop into the Evergreen Library and ask her for book recommendations!

and HELLO

Cynthia McCarthy

We are happy to have Cynthia as a new adjunct librarian Mondays and Tuesdays! Cynthia brings a wealth of experience from a variety of college and university libraries including San Jose State University, the University of San Francisco, and Stanford University. Before becoming a librarian Cynthia worked as a journalist and has published a book on the history of Belmont.

Gareth Scott

One of our new adjunct librarians, Gareth, brings his experience teaching information literacy courses at California State University East Bay and conducting library instruction and research help to students at other college, public, and law libraries. A graduate of a community college himself, he is a great addition to our library and campus. He also has a background in performance and dance. Say hello Gareth Thursday nights!

Chris Burns

Our new Friday librarian, Chris Burns, comes to us from the Alameda and San Mateo Public Library Systems.
