Week 5
- A school assembly will be held in the library tomorrow at 9am. Our Student Representative Council members have been voted for by the class. I am very pleased and proud to announce that Sofia and Oliver have been selected. They will receive their badges at the assembly.
- At last our Interactive Whiteboard is now functioning, as are our iPads. The children have been enjoying sharing their work through Seesaw. It is great that parents are responding with comments. Throughout this week each child will record his or her voice, reading the text they are currently working on. The recording will then be sent via Seesaw. Most children have stopped pointing to each word and are now trying to sound fluent. This occurs when several words are read, called 'phrasing', as opposed to reading word by word. As the year progresses there will be a noticeable improvement in fluency and expression.
- We are also focusing on letter and numeral formation. Many children are forming these incorrectly. Please encourage your child to write with the correct pencil grip and to form letters and numerals correctly. I will send home information this week to help.
- If any parent can spend time sewing chair bags it would be greatly appreciated. The school will provide the material.
Regards, Kerrie
