This Week...
This week in class we will continue to analyze Apartheid in South Africa. Students will complete their analysis of the Agents of Change which include internal unrest, individuals, and external pressure. The week will end with an assessment (in-class essay) on how these Agents of Change helped end Apartheid.
- Students will define the "who's who" in South Africa.
- Students will identify Black Consciousness.
- Students will analyze how External Pressures have led to the end of Apartheid.
- Students will analyze primary and secondary sources of South African Apartheid.
- Students will assess their knowledge on how the three "Agents of Change" led to the end of Apartheid in South Africa.
Homework:
- Complete Key Events and Who's Who research due Tuesday, October 13.
- Complete External Pressure packet due Wednesday, October 14.
- Complete Culture Project Introduction Research due Friday, October 16.
- Prepare for In-class essay on South African Apartheid Friday, October 16.
Block 4
This week in class we will introduce the chronological order of events which led to Apartheid in South Africa. We will use these events to explain how Apartheid came to be and finally introduce the three Agents of Change that will help end Apartheid.
- Students will identify the European colonization of South Africa in chronological order.
- Students will create a timeline of South Africa.
- Students will define Apartheid.
- Students will identify the three agents of change (internal unrest, individuals, external pressures).
- Students will analyze how individuals have led to the end of Apartheid.
