The Work
The Mona Lisa
This piece was created sometime between 1503 to 1506. We do not know the exact date. You can see this piece today at the Musee du Louvre in Paris, France.
This piece is an artistic oil painting, and it was made on a wood panel.
I find this piece to be so interesting because not many people know that Leonardo da Vinci made this piece as a self portrait. He did not like the way his eyebrows looked and his eye lashes, so he simply did not add them into his self portrait.
Humanism is most closely linked to this piece because its all human like features, besides not having eyebrows and eyelashes. Its very realistic.
