Periodic Table- A Table that organizes elements based on physical and chemical properties.
Re-activity- Tendency of a substance to undergo chemical changes.
Periodic Trend- A regular pattern of characteristics along a row or column in the periodic table.
Valence Electrons- The electrons in the outer most energy level of an atom.
Chemical Groups-A horizontal row of elements on the periodic table that share chemical properties.
Chemical Periods- A horizontal row of elements on the periodic table that have the same number of energy levels.
Noble Gases- Elements in Group 18 that are nonreactive; gases at room temperature
Halogen- Elements in group 17 on the periodic table. This group tends to be mostly gases and is very reactive.
Alkali Metal- Elements in group 1 on the periodic table. This group tends to be mostly metals and is very reactive.
Alkali Earth Metal- Elements in group 2 on the periodic table. This group is made up of entirely of metals and is reactive.
