Central Idea Statement

On February 11, 1938 Jane Yolen was born and from the very start wanted to help children in New York City at the Beth Israel Hospital with her mother and father Isabel Berlin Yolen and Will Hyatt Yolen. Later once she hit 23 years old she was working at her father’s store when she read a book and thought “I thought that this was the best book I have ever read.” Then she wanted to write children’s books. She did this to give kids hope to be able to read.

Mood:

The mood is melancholy because most of the stories are happy towards the end but still has a very sad part in the book.
