Tustumena Elementary Newsletter
January 12, 2016
Happy January,
I hope everyone is having a great 2016 so far. Report cards went home this week along with appointment cards for our Parent/Teacher conferences on February 4th and 5th. If you didn't get one, or didn't see your child's report card, please contact our teachers right away.
I don't have to tell you about how dedicated our teachers are, but you have an opportunity to let them know they are appreciated. At the bottom of this newsletter is a link and a letter explaining the BP Teachers of Excellence Program. If you feel your child's teacher should be recognized by a nomination, please take a moment and visit the website.
Please remember that this is a three day weekend for our school in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King. We also have several other events coming up including SEM clusters and District Forensics match for which we need volunteers. Please contact the school if you can help.
Sincerely,
Doug Hayman
Principal

Health tip from Mrs. Abel
“Creating art can be a good way to stimulate brain growth, increase release of the “feel good” neurotransmitter dopamine, reduce impulsivity, improve problem-solving skills, relieve stress, and train people to concentrate on details or attend to the environment. Coloring books have become a popular mental health tool even for adults.”
Please be informed and engaged
