Oppa Update
From Principal Raginia
Dear OPPA Families,
We continue to be available to support you and your student toward reaching their academic goals. Below are a few tips to adopt that will help you in supporting your Oak Park Preparatory Academy student in their academic success.
- Check Parent Connect on a weekly basis to monitor your student’s grades and attendance. If you are in need of your log in information, please contact Mrs. Foster at cfoster@oakparkschools.org.
- Contact teachers via email with any questions related to your student’s academic progress. Each teacher has built in office hours each afternoon from 2:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. All teachers email addresses can be found on the school website
- Ensure that your student is up in the morning and logging in to their Zoom classes on time. Encourage students to find a comfortable work space and to turn on their cameras in order to fully engage in the learning experience.
- Hold students accountable for attending daily office hours with their teachers to get any questions they have answered or just as a space to work on assignments they need to finish for the day.
- Do not allow technology issues to prevent your student from learning. Technology and support has been available since April. If your student is experiencing difficulty with their district issued technology, please contact the technology help desk at 248-336-7667 or call the main office at 248-336-7620.

2nd Semester
- Second Semester: The first day of the second semester is Tuesday, January 19th. Students should check Student Connect for their new schedule as many of their courses may have changed. Zoom codes and Google classroom invites will be sent to the student’s district issued Gmail account. Students should get into the habit of checking their school issued email on a daily basis so that they are not missing important information from their teachers and the school.
- The reason for the schedule change is in preparation of return to in-person school. In order to comply with the recommendations from the CDC and Health Dept. we needed to group the students in teams to limit the number of student to student contacts throughout the day. In order to ensure the health and safety of each student when we return to school, Oak Park Preparatory Academy will participate in contact tracing the students at school.
