Principal's Newsletter

Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Assistant Principal
Dear Parents,
Happy 2019! I am thrilled to have a guest spot in writing Dr. Williams’ newsletter this week as she has been busy at off campus meetings.
We are so excited to begin the second half of the school year and to prepare our students to finish strong! We loved seeing all of the great experiences you shared over the winter break with your families and receiving your family cards for our holiday bulletin board in the office. Our staff was showered with incredible gifts from our families and the holiday parties were a smashing success! We are so fortunate to have a community that cares so much and gives your continuous support.
The new year has started off with even more incredible happenings! As you know, Dr. Williams traveled to California with her family for the National Championship Game and what a game it was! She is still gleaming with pride about her Clemson Tigers!
It appears there’s another great way to “ring” in the new year and that is getting engaged! Congratulations to our newly engaged teachers: Ms.King, Ms. Lavenda and Ms. Dallas. They will all be busy planning their weddings in the coming months and preparing to commit a lifetime of love to their significant others.
On December 31st , 2018, at the B Ocean Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I too was able to “ring” in the new year by marrying my fiancé, Luke. Luke and I have shared 9 long years together and we celebrated our love in front of 150 friends and family members from Florida, Iowa (where Luke is from), IL, NY, NJ, Texas, and of course Georgia. Spending time on the sandy beaches is so awesome in December! It was truly a night to remember! Our New Year’s Eve celebrations will now be combined with our anniversary and #RingingintheStrothers every year! Last week, we took a short cruise to Mexico for our mini-moon but plan to take a longer honeymoon in the summer to the Greek Islands.
My new last name will be Strother (pronounced Struther), but I will wait to use it until next year so that you don’t have to learn a new last name just yet! Below are just a few pictures to share until I get the professional ones from our photographers. I can’t wait to introduce Luke to our fantastic CCE community.
Hopefully, we will see you on International Night on January 25, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 pm in the cafeteria! Our parents who are coordinating this event have a wonderful night in store for all of our families! Have a great weekend!
Coming Soon - International Night!

All parents are encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of our School Climate Star Rating and we currently have 5 stars here at CCES. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.
