World Teachers Day
Our lovely Gemma Ryan was nominated for World Teachers day for the region and interviewed by ABC radio. We are blessed to have such a multitalented lady at our school!
Start and finish time
Next year there will be some slight changes to start and finish times.

School Stream
School stream is a communication app that we will be using to send out all newsletters, notes, permission slips, record absentees, and find any school information. Please follow the steps below as this is the last time the newsletter will be emailed.
You will now have two school apps- Seesaw for class communication and student learning journals and School Stream for all other communication.
Staffing
We have been very busy sorting out classes and staffing for 2021. We would like to congratulate the following staff on their new appointments to Leinster Community School for 2021.

Excursions
Please review the following exciting outings that our children will be going on.

Year 1-Caversham Wildlife Park

Year 5/6-Camp school
Year 6 Graduation
The year 6 Graduation will be a dinner at the Tavern between 6:00-8:30 pm on 1st December 2020. This will be for the year 5 and 6 class and their parents only at a cost of $30 per head.
End of year concerts
Awards Ceremony
This will be held in the undercover area at 9 am on 8th December. Parents will be notified if their child will receive an award. We will farewell our year 6s at this ceremony.
End of Year Concert
This will be held in the undercover area at 5 pm on 8th December. Our theme this year is Celebrations Around the World. Each class will perform one item and there will be a whole school song at the end. Dinner will be provided. Please note this is an alcohol-free event.
If younger siblings are present at these events then they are to be closely supervised and not disrupt or play on the playground.
Assemblies
Thank you to Olivia Parslow and our beautiful Pre-Primaries for their Assembly teaching us all How To Catch a Dragon.
We also enjoyed Danielle Rimmer and the Year 2/3s with some wonderful poetry and a special Roald Dahl poem, The Crocodile.

Count Us In
This event was organised by Gemma Ryan to advocate for music in Australian Schools. The children performed "You Won't Bring Us Down". They performed the song at the same time as other schools around Australia. Beautiful performance!
Disco
Year 12 Graduation
Congratulations to Orlando Evans who has successfully completed year 12. Thank you to The Leinster Tavern for providing an amazing meal for all involved.
Swimming
Vac swim will be held throughout the holidays.
Royal Life Saving are coming to Leinster for water safety talks this term and planning on hosting a Have-Go Carnival next year.
Carpark
We are still working with BHP to alter the car park. You will begin to notice the following changes:
- Signage for reverse parking only
- Bays remarked
- K-2 marked bays for younger students
- Teachers cars at the back of the school to reduce congestion
- A crosswalk
- Speed signage in the car park
Please remember to stay in your car when using kiss and drop- do not unload all siblings and get out of the car. It is designed to be a maximum 4-minute limit.
Booklists 2021
Please order your child's books for next year. They will be delivered to the school. Instructions below.
Accidents in Community
We have had two accidents with our students in the community in the last couple of weeks. Both children are fine at this stage and we are in regular communication with families about their situation.
Pre-Primary Wood Work Class
Our wonderful Pre-Primary students had a woodwork lesson with the Dads! Check out these fabulous birdhouses and thank you to all of the dads who helped.

Ping Pong Tournament
Our high school students organised a ping pong tournament for all of the year 5-12 students. Even the teachers were invited to compete!
