Origin of Spice
The clove originates from a small evergreen tree that is found native to the fabled spice islands.
The clove comes from a tree, but when cooking you use an unnopened flower bud.
Common Culinary Uses
Cloves have a warm lingering flavor that works best for both sweet and savory dishes. They are also best used when they are dried.
