Equity Team
We are looking for families to join our equity team. The purpose of an equity team is to increase cultural competence across staff, empower families, and review the following: current policies and procedures, current decision-making processes, allocation of time, and community engagement strategies in an effort to reduce inequities across the school. We meet twice monthly, the first and third Thursday. You do not need to attend both meetings to be on the team. Students are welcome!
Here are the next meetings:
Thursday May 2nd 3:00-4:00pm at AMS

Report Cards
3rd Quarter Grades
Report cards were handed out to all students in their Advisory class. Please ask your student to see their report card. They can also be viewed on Skyward.
Secondary Grade System
D grade or above, students will earn credit for the class.
60% is usually considered the lowest passing score.
What impacts a grade?
Tests, assignments, projects, classwork, homework, participation
Different categories hold different weight in the grade
Example: Tests may make up 20% of the grade while assignments make up 50%. If you do poorly on assignments, it will impact your grade more than if you do poorly on a test.
You can access Skyward here.

If you have trouble with your password please contact the Registrar at your school.
Attendance Counts!
On-time daily attendance is essential to the academic achievement of each and every student. Students with poor attendance miss critical instruction and can quickly fall behind. That is why Washington State has a law (RCW 28.A.225.010) intended to stop absences before they become a problem and support us in minimizing the academic impact. The law often known as the “BECCA BILL” requires that we keep track of attendance and invite families to a meeting when a student has exceeded 3 days of unexcused absences. Always report your students absence within 48 hours to 425-431-4062.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Set a regular bedtime and morning routine.
• Prepare for school the night before, finishing homework and getting a good night's sleep.
• Consider signs and symptoms when making a decision to excuse your student for being ill. Keep in mind complaints of a stomachache or headache can be a sign of anxiety.
• Avoid appointments and extended trips when school is in session.
• Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
• Keep track of your student's attendance and talk to your student about the importance of attendance.
• Talk to your student's teachers if you notice sudden changes in behavior. These could be tied to something going on at school.
