UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 14

A Message from Administration


Greetings Montclair Families,


WIth keeping you all updated about the updates from CCS and the staff members and administration team at Montclair, here is a message from the administration team.


On December 16, CCS will host the Choice Program Virtual Parent Sessions. The 2021-2022 Choice Application period is open until January 22, 2021. Parents can exercise their Choice power in Cumberland County Schools by attending four of the six remaining virtual information sessions that will help find the Choice Program that best matches their child's interests and goals. The sessions will occur at 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The next sessions will take place on Wednesday, January 13 (2021). As a reminder, the deadline for parents and caregivers of students to present the required immunization record and health assessment transmittal form for their child has been extended until December 30. For more information, visit the district's Website.


As a Reminder, The CCS' Child Nutrition Services has made changes to the Meal Site Distribution. The following changes to meal and bundle meal site distribution:


Thursday, December 17 - Two days of meals will be distributed;

Friday, December 18 - The meal sites will be closed; and

Monday, December 21 - Tuesday, January 5 - All meal sites will be closed.

Tuesday, December 22 & Tuesday, December 29 - No bundle meal distribution.

District Closes for Winter Break


In observance of Winter Break, district and school offices in CCS will close after school on Friday, December 18, and remain closed through Friday, January 1.


Additionally, during the Winter Break duration, students will have the opportunity to work on missing work from Quarter 2. Please encourage your students to work on any asynchronous missing assignments. We have extended their ability to complete make-up work until January 8th. After this due date, all missing assignments will count against your student.


As of December 18, if your child has no logged in to iStation to complete December's Progress Monitoring. Please be sure your child does this by the end of the week. Please be reminded students are to be logging into iStation daily and working for 15-20 minutes. iStation will direct the child were to log in, but they must log in daily to ensure academic growth. Thank you for helping your child's teacher with this important task. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher or the administration team.


Lastly, as we are unsure of what Plan we will come back on, we encourage you to take care of your mental health and please be safe during the holiday break. As the Board of Education decision has been postponed, please trust that Montclair's staff is preparing for any circumstances we may face in January.
