From Key Club...

The Key Club conducted its fourth annual Induction and Award Banquet on Monday, May 2nd in the Manitou Spring High School Media Center. The Key Club mission is to support children locally and internationally. In attendance were the Key Club members, Kiwanis Advisors and parents. All observed Payten Smith and her fellow members run a flawless banquet. We started with a potluck dinner of pizza, sliders, salads, cookies and chips. Payten provided a broad overview of accomplishments this year - Haunted House, making and delivering dog toys to the Humane Society, supporting the Kiwanis golf tournament, donating to UNICEF, working Care & Share prior to the Christmas holidays - to name a few activities. Weatherly Hall (this past year's Vice President) pinned on Nicole Sharon's Historian pin. Payten then provided members who earned different awards and letters their swag. Last, but not least, was recognizing the Seniors who have been integral members during their time in high school - Weatherly Hall, Nian Crouch, Stuart Myers and Gideon Aigner. The Key Club Advisor, Mr. Talbott, wrapped the banquet up by recognizing Darold Jones and Joel Grotzinger for their contributions as our Kiwanis big brother advisors. Mr. Talbott also shared some experiences from the past year highlighting the contributions, impact and fun of the Key Club as a whole. Next for the Key Club is planning for next year. All MSHS students are welcome to try out the Key Club. You can join before the school year is over by attending any of our remaining Thursday lunches in Mr. Talbott's classroom. Hope to see you.
