LeDerick Horne
LeDerick Horne will be presenting “A Path to Pride and Success” with a focus on self-advocacy and self-determination. We invite anyone working with older students (ages 12-22) to join us. Diagnosed with a learning disability in the third grade, LeDerick Horne defies any and all labels. He is a dynamic spoken-word poet and a tireless advocate for all people with disabilities, inspiring motivational speaker and bridge-builder between learners and leaders across the U.S. and around the word. Dr. Ruby Payne
Spend the day with Dr. Ruby Payne exploring the topic of Emotional Poverty. Through learning about emotional poverty, you will discover why some students exhibit behavior meltdowns, what motivates behavior, and why some strategies work with some students and others do not, plus much more. Two options of attendance will be offered! This 4-day series is designed to boost teacher's capacity to provide Tier 1 instruction. The tenets of delivering instruction explicitly, designing lessons regarding skills, facts, vocabulary, and concepts, as well as providing opportunities for independent retrieval practice and much more will be shared during this series.
