What We're Learning this week

Math - "I can determine the value of a collection of coins up to one dollar." and "I can apply mathematical process standards to manage one's financial resources effectively for lifetime financial security."

Reading- (Non-' Fiction)-"I can make inferences and use evidence to support my understanding."

Fundations-New Concept: r-controlled sounds er, ir, ur

combining er, ir, ur with other syllable types (hunger, temper, enter, termite)

Writing (Non-Fiction)- I can state my opinion in writing.

Science- "I can compare changes in materials caused by heating [adding heat] and cooling [removing heat].

No GT classes from 1/31 - 2/28 due to the following:

Testing for Gifted & Talented (GT) Services

and/or the ASPIRE Academy

Kindergarten through 5th Grade currently enrolled students may be referred and tested for GT services and/or the ASPIRE Academy during the windows below:

Referral Window: January 10 - January 28

Testing Window: February 1 - February 28

GT Decisions mailed: March 28

ASPIRE Decisions mailed: April 27

Visit the Advanced Academics Website ( to refer your child for testing, and please allow thirty minutes to complete the “Parent Inventory/Permission to Test” online form.
