Ozbots Used to Teach Computer Coding Skills

Jefferson 2nd and 3rd grade students recently spent time in Media class honing their computer coding skills using Ozbots. These "mini-bots" can be programmed to follow line and color codes. Students learn how these beginning coding skills connect to the "real world" and the applications such skills have in tomorrow's workplace.

Also, it's pretty fun! : )

#MAPSready - Where the Positivity Flows...

Our district's social media presence is expanding rapidly, and it's great to see all the good news about our district and our students out there for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget to view, "like", and follow your favorites.

Our "Wacky Day Selfies" recently appeared on the District YouTube page:

Art Fair / Book Fair

The recently completed Art Fair / Book Fair was a smashing success. It's safe to say a good time was had by all. Kids and adults enjoyed activities and treats in the cafeteria, and many purchases were made from the wide selection of books in the gym. Thanks to all the PTO members who made this great night possible. It's always energizing to see so many of our Jefferson families coming together and having fun. THANKS!

Annual Spring Reminders

- Parents, please pay close attention to notes that come home about upcoming field trips and picnics for your children! May is our busiest month for these types of activities.

- Are you moving out of town over the summer OR transferring to another District 77 school? If so, please notify the Jefferson office as soon as possible.

- Remember, attendance exceptions are good for one school year, and families must reapply each year.

- Attendance exceptions for daycare are only accepted through grade five. When students enter sixth grade, families should expect they will attend their neighborhood school. Families living within the East boundaries attend Prairie Winds Middle School, and families living within the West boundaries attend Dakota Meadow Middle School. If you are unsure of the neighborhood school boundaries, you can always visit Central Registration at

10 Civic Center Plaza.
