If you’re scared of thunder then you should read Thunder Cake by Patricia Polacco and overcome your fears. Patricia Polacco uses juicy words like horizon instead of sky. She also uses onomatopoeia words like ROARED, BOOM, and CRACKLE. She uses counting in her book. For example, as the lightning flashed she counted to see how many miles away it was. Her drawings are very creative. She uses a lot of color to show the feelings on the characters faces. In the end the characters make thunder cake. This book is inspiring! I know you will love it!
