Thriving in Third

May 10th Edition

Dear Parents,

We hope you had a wonderful weekend, and Happy Mother's Day! Thank you so much for an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so grateful for all of your kind words and goodies throughout the week.

As a reminder, third graders will be taking the Math and Reading STAAR tests this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Please be sure your child has a good night's sleep and a good breakfast on these days.
  • As a reminder, our morning bell rings at 7:45. Please make every effort to help your child be on time these days.
  • Snacks should be "as quiet as a banana" and feel free to send your child with as many snacks as they wish to have. There will be no set time for snack on these days, as the students are encouraged to eat whenever they feel hungry.

A Sneak Peek at Our Week

ELAR - Students recognize and analyze genre-specific characteristics, structures and purposes.

MATH - Students determine the area of rectangles with whole number side lengths in problems using multiplication related to the number of rows times the number of unit squares in each row

SOCIAL STUDIES - How do inventions affect our daily life? We can identify and describe individual acts of civic responsibility including serving and improving the community by problem-solving and responding to the needs of a community.
