WWA's Weekly Newsletter

Week of May 1st, 2023

WWA's Mission: “Ensure all students are learning at high levels.”

Dear Parents,

I want to say a big thank you to the PTSO for helping set up a great opportunity for parents to come and visit with our new principal Mrs. Rebecca Rodriguez for our family night out at Panera and at our Coffee Chat. Also a big thank you to all of our parents and families that were able to attend those events and take some time to get to know Mrs. Rodriguez.

Last week, our UPC representatives and I walked around to each staff member's classroom and handed out recognition in front of our students that was turned in to acknowledge their contribution to our school. It was a great opportunity to thank our teachers and staff for all the hard work they do to support our students and school each and every day.

STEM Night is coming up Wednesday May 10th from 5-6:30 PM. This STEM Night will be a little different from recent nights, but it will be a great opportunity for families to come out with their students and enjoy an evening of fun! We hope to see you there.

Summer Projects

First we always want to thank our community for supporting our elections here in PVUSD. Since our community members have supported our bond and override elections, we want to keep our community informed on the direct impact it has on our school. The following projects are expected to be taking place at WWA this summer to refresh and replace several needed items within our building. The 2023 Summer Projects at Whispering Wind Academy:

  • New asphalt in all our parking lots - parking lots will be closed this summer beginning 5/29/23

  • All new flooring inside of the building - the building will also be closed for this summer beginning 5/27/23

  • All of the interior of the building is being painted, including the classrooms

  • Security cameras will be installed in the front lobby and two of the main hallways for additional security purposes

  • Our PA system is being upgraded

  • New security doors installed at front office area

Thank you to the WWA and PVUSD community for supporting the efforts to keep our School and District in a position to be modern and up to date!
