Welcome to BHS and BTEC!
Dear Boonville High School and BTEC Families,
On behalf of the staff at Boonville High School and BTEC, we are happy to welcome you and your student(s) to the 2023-24 school year. We look forward to a productive partnership to ensure our students are successful throughout the school year. BHS and BTEC understand that your student’s success relies heavily on support at school and home and that a strong partnership with you will make a significant difference in your student’s education. Below you will find important information relating to student registration and the start of the school year.

School Pictures – Yearbook Pick Up
Senior composite and school pictures will be taken during registration on August 9, 10, and 11. Seniors will take their senior photos with the drape and tux provided by the photographer. Seniors should plan accordingly. All other students will take their school pictures in accordance with the school dress code.
Yearbooks ordered from the 2022-23 school year will be available for pick up in the Commons during registration. You may also purchase your 2023-2024 yearbook at this time.
Parking Passes
All students who plan to drive to school are required to have a parking pass for the student parking lot. Parking passes are $20 for the whole year and $10 for second semester and can be picked up during registration.
Cafeteria
Our kitchen staff will be here to set up student accounts for our school meal fingerprint scanner. You may also deposit money into student lunch accounts.
Supplies
Students are required to have a package of ruled paper, pens (black or blue), pencils, and erasers. Each student will bring one box of Kleenex to turn in to the student’s 5th-hour teacher. Students in math classes need a package of graphing paper and one of the following recommended calculators: TI84 Series or TI30XS Series.
Students are highly recommended to have either a one-inch binder for each class or a larger binder with dividers for each class. Some classes may require students to keep an individual binder for each class. The course syllabus for each class will dictate the binder requirements for each course. Freshmen and sophomores are highly encouraged to have a binder for each course.
Some BHS and BTEC classes have unique supply needs. Teachers will share any additional supply needs during the first week of school.
Chromebooks
Each student will continue to have a Chromebook issued to them. Students may pick up Chromebooks in the Media Center during registration. Chromebook insurance coverage is $25/student for the entire year and can be paid online through Infinite Campus or in person.
Bus Transportation
Bus transportation requests are a part of the online enrollment process, but this year, we ask that parents fill out the form by Saturday, August 5 even if you have not set up your Infinite Campus account yet.
Requests may be made online here: Bus Transportation Signup Link by Saturday, August 5th to ensure ridership on the first day of school. If you miss the deadline, contact the First Student bus barn directly at 660-882-7421.
Athletics
First Day of Fall Practice: The first day of practice for fall athletics is Monday, August 7. Each coach should publish a practice start time for their respective sports. All student-athletes must have a physical on file to practice, a MSHSAA requirement. The athletics office holds physical forms on a two-year cycle. Please contact the Athletics Office for questions regarding your students’ physicals. Check out our athletic website for up-to-date information: BoonvillePirates.com
Athletic Passes: All-sport athletic passes can be purchased during registration. Passes admit spectators to regular-season home games; some exclusions apply during post-season games.
$40 – Student Pass
$45 – Adult Pass
$100 – Family Pass
Drug Testing Policy
Boonville Schools will conduct random drug testing of students in grades 7-12 as a condition of their participation in covered activities. Covered activities include all extracurricular activities, the extra-curricular component of co-curricular activities, and any student who chooses to drive to school and park in a District parking area. More information and a link to the policy are on the school website and in the online enrollment form in Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Open House
BHS and BTEC will host an Open House from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17. The open house is coordinated with our other district schools so families with children in multiple schools can attend each one. It’s a great time for first-year students to find their classes and for families to meet our amazing teachers.
First Day of School – August 22
The first day of school is an early dismissal day. The doors open at 7:25 AM daily. School will be dismissed at 12:40 PM, with lunch served at 12:40 PM and buses picking students up at 1:00 PM.
See you soon!
