Student Arrival/Dismissal
Parents need to screen their children each day before bring them to school.
Parent Pick Up/Drop Off will occur on the school yard in the designated cohorting areas. Please include in your class newsletter that students should arrive 5 minutes before the bell and line up in their designated line up area. This is not a time for students to play on the yard.
Parents should leave as soon as they have dropped off their student in their designated cohort at arrival and upon picking up their student at dismissal. I will be messaging this in the newsletter as well.
Cleaning Classroom Supplies/Sharing Supplies
-Classroom books and other reading materials can be used by a student during the week, can sit for the weekend unused and can then be given to another student the following week
-Please sanitize materials where possible.
-SORA (e-books) also an option instead of/in addition to classroom books.
-Indoor shoes are required.
-Backpacks are permitted.

Parents Opting Their Student In or Opting Their Student Out
Class Lists
After September 24th, students learning remotely will join the LDSB Virtual School.
Health & Safety
-Yard Supervisors will receive training
-OT's and OT EA's will complete H & S training prior to starting work.
--A schedule has been set up by the Board for replenishing PPE, sanitizer and wipes. If you run out, please let Pamela know and she will contact Michael Jou.
-Emergency supply teachers will continue to be used. The Board is working on a process to train all staff.
-Masks worn by staff must be those provided by LDSB. The Board is looking into purchasing some clear mouth masks. Staff cannot choose to wear a face shield instead of a mask, unless they have a medical reason not to wear a mask. In these instances, a face shield would be required. Masks should be worn at all times but can be removed when you are working alone in your classroom.
-Face shields will be provided to all staff but wearing them is not mandatory.
-Fans can be used and can oscillate to mitigate the heat. Please place these strategically e.g., near your outside door, rather than in the middle of your classroom.
-Upholstered teacher/admin/office admin chairs are approved for continued use.
Technology for Remote Learning and In Person Learning
-We have requested that our technology be returned for those families whose students are returning to in person learning.
-Much of the technology that was loaned out came from the tech cart. We will share out these chrome books. Please let Melissa know if you need technology.
I had ordered 20 additional chrome books but they are back ordered due to high demand in Canada and the U.S.
-If students share technology, it must be wiped off between users.
Staff Room/Teacher Work Area
-Teacher Work Room can also be used and can accommodate 1 person without masks or two people who are wearing masks.
-The microwave and fridge can be used by staff. The staff room can accommodate 5 people.
-Food sharing will be "grab and go" options only and we will keep these in the Staff Room for now. We need a co-ordinator for Food Sharing.
Visitors to the School/Parent Meetings
Outside Agencies
-Coop students can continue.

"Sharing of school supplies should be discouraged when possible."
What Do I Need to Remove from My Classroom?
Phys. Ed.
With regard to Phys. Ed. equipment, we are not to use equipment that is shared between students and classes. If you do, you will need to ensure it is cleaned between use and students are following proper hand hygiene before and after use.
$100.00 per classroom has been allocated for teachers to purchase items for their class to play with outside.
Technology
Please make sure you have a virtual classroom setup for the start of the school year.

Masks and Going Out for Recess
Students should be wearing masks at all times when walking through the school. An exception could be made by the principal if the classroom was right next to the exit, but you would then need to ensure social distancing while exiting the school.
Use of Sub-Cohorts
Keep a record of sub-cohort members.
Can kids work together (sit together) for activities since they are in a class together?
Can we use student work materials such as notebooks, worksheets, and proejcts?
How should masks be stored?
Fire Drills
However, were it an actual emergency situation, social distancing practices are not expected to be adhered to.
