DCES Panther News

Dear Panther Families,
Two Thank Yous in this Season of Gratitude
1. We have had some excitement at Dennis Chavez with our most recent evacuation. I want to personally thank all of our families for your patience and understanding while we ensured the safety of our students. Thank you for standing around in the fog with us and for supporting our students and staff.
2. APS, and especially DCES, is thankful for your support for the most recent Bond and Mill Levy election. I am grateful that we will be able to see repairs done for our school, and the hope of refreshing some of our outdated technology.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 25-26th.
At the end of this month, we are hosting our Parent-Teacher Conferences. This is a great time to sit down with your child's teacher to review progress made throughout the 1st trimester. Take this opportunity to learn about how your child is performing, socializing, and progressing through the school year. If you have specific topics you would like to address, please communicate this to the teacher in advance.
While you are on campus for your Parent-Teacher Conference, please check out our lost and found. It is growing!! Come claim your items! We will be donating items from our lost and found before Winter Break.
Lastly, we loved seeing so many parent volunteers at our Jog-A-Thon last month! Thank you to our PTA and parent volunteers for running (haha) this event. Our PTA President shares below how successful the Jog-A-Thon was this year. I personally had a blast getting silly-stringed by 79 students!!! We thank you for your support of our fantastic school!

Greetings, Happy Fall!
A huge thank you to all of our Dennis Chavez Families! We had such an amazing Jog-A-Thon this year. The weather was beautiful, the kids did awesome and ran their hearts out, we had several DCES families help run the event, and we raised money! We were able to raise $28,000 dollars through the Jog-A-Thon this year, which is amazing, thank you!!! It feels so good to be able to raise money for the school. This helps us purchase the things our children need for their education. So a HUGE thanks to all our Dennis Chavez Families!!!
Also, a friendly reminder that during the holidays a free way to give money back to the school is through Amazon Smile. If you are like me, you buy a lot of presents through Amazon and what a simple way to bring in money for our school.
Thanks to all our DCES families for their time and talents that they share through our PTA. Our next meeting will be December 4th, at 8am, hope to see many of you there.
