Nepal Project 2016
Hi, I'm from Katmandu, Nepal. I love being outside, and the mountains are in my backyard
I'm 15. Mount Everest is the tallest peak in Nepal.

More about the Country of Nepal
There was an earthquake in my city last year and it was totally devastating. Everything changed. It tore apart many homes and families.

The border
There is a dispute of the 100 km of land that India says that they own. The map states the border belongs to Nepal and India stills has the area marked as there's. So when tourists come, they are always getting detained.
Education
In 2013, I graduated from school with a class of 200, and there was only 35 girls. I am lucky to have an eduction, I can read and write. Many jobs in Nepal require this.
Terrorism
The Maoist is a domestic threat to Nepal, because they want a communist government. They really want to over throw the government. India is really tight in the border and the Maoist tries to get in by going over the border.

Jessi i've been reading your posts and I think that i'd like to share my experience on what it is like to live in Norway because then you could have some ideas on what to do to make to country safer.

Hey, I just got back from sailing. I was wondering what Nepal is like? Like school and how the kind of government you have. Is it even a safe place to live with the mountains and China being so close.
Jessi Darji
I like your questions, so I will try my best to answer them. So in Nepal we have a democracy and the government was just established last year. There is also terrorists group that tries to over rule the government called "Maoist" and they are a communist group. I live really close to the Mountains you may know as Mount Everest. We had a very devastating earthquake last year and it ruined many homes, and religious buildings. My sister died because she was at school. The school doesn't have a plan so she got trampled. Other than the earthquakes we acquire I would say it is pretty safe. I graduated school two years ago and work with students to share why school is so important. In the summer I work with my mom and we show tourist how to live and survive in the mountains.

I hope thats enough. Can you share what Norway is like.
Skylar Lund
Hey thanks for response. I would like to share some my experiences with you. I'm in high school and planing on going to collage to get a degree in science and technology. I love being outside and looking at fjords near my house. Norway is pretty safe and it really big. I think that to help Nepal be safer waiting until the government can develop its congress and laws 30 Years. But the Maoist is more of an activist group and they want violence and they should learn that they will get punished if they are violent. On the other hand i'm deeply sorry about you sister and looking in to if I can sent you supplies.

Thanks for the response, the kit would be a great idea. How long does it take to make them? How much money does it take to build this survival emergency kit?
Skylar Lund
Well the kits are pretty easy to make they need basic living stuff like, water, food and a first aid kit, that the most basic kits. You can make them more complex like adding stuff to do, tarp, needle tread, and warm clothes. It would cost like 840.74, in your currency but for me its cheaper so I could send stuff to you. Just pick out the package you want, or just what looks the best in a kit or what most people need there.
Jessi Darji
How much will it cost for me to deliver to 1million people if I can convince the government to help with the costs.

Skylar Lund
I can send you like 200 kits but they are really expensive like more than a hundred rupees. But you can make them but they aren't going to be as good but they are cheaper.
Jessi Darji
Thanks for the feedback. I love the idea I talk about it will some locals and see what they think. In the mean time, I have a question for you? My aunt was pregnant but the baby didn't make it how does this happen?
Skylar Lund
I've looked into the healthcare there and well it isn't your aunts fault its not very sanitary there and the hospitals need better knowledge of how to deliver kids. I think that in Norway the death rate is very low because to that. So it would take more schooling for mothers and kids. This might take a long time to achieve like 40 years. That why, I think but it always hard to tell.
Jessi Darji
Thanks I really want to help, but I can't. Anyways what other things fun things do you do in your free time.

How many jobs are in Nepal for women? I get the choice to train for snowboarding anywhere so how's the Himalayan Mountains. I thinking i'm going to visit you. How does that sound?
Jessi Darji
There isn't many jobs there but its hard to tell with men taking many of the jobs. I like that idea. I would really like to meet you. Will you we can try and make Nepal better place to live. I think it would take many years for women to have the opportunity to get to equal rights. Many are just scared of what will happen if the speak out including me.
Skylar Lund
My mom wants to know what i'm walking into, I need to know health places, map borders, and where i'm going to be staying with.
Jessi Darji
I will be with you at all times and we will have a plan to what needs to be accomplished you might want to bring food and clean water. We are still recovering from the earthquake. Did you come up with any idea with making the kits by chance.
Skylar Lund
I have decided that I would ask some local companies if they would supply you with water and food etc. I have three companies that would deliver there. I also am making first aid kits at school with my friends and we got 400 kits made so far. I'm looking forward to meeting you soon!
Jessi Darji
You guy are going to make a lot of people happy, thanks. Look forward to seeing you next month.
Skylar Lund
I just want to say thanks for everything. I want you to come and visit me next year in Norway, then you can experience my life too.
